The temple of the Moon is located within the archaeological park of Sacsayhuaman, a 20 minute walk from the city center of Cusco. It is sacred place dedicated to Mother Killa or Moon and also to Uhupacha or subsoil world.



During the Inca heyday all kinds of offering ceremonies were performed, especially during full moon and new moon night.

In the same way today trying to recover a little of anything, we perform mystical ceremonies especially of Healing whose main activities are :

This immense rock has three temples inside as caverns. You enter the main enclosure which is divided into two rooms. In the main enclosure you find a ceremony table finely carved in stone. These spaces are connected to the universe by a natural hole. On Moonlit nights, at midnight, the moon reflected by the table illuminates the entire enclosure.

Features of the Temple of the Moon:

It has three caverns typical of the rock formation where the Incas finely carved the stone forming their tables and ornaments.

The temple comes out entirely of the conventional, in the distance you can see a simple rock, but up close you can see a lot of carvings and carved as bleachers, seats and other figures.
